About the event
Hey, hey folks! July is upon us and it's time for our next Pop-Up Kirtan! We've been scoping out your recommendations and this month we will be meeting at Legion Park, with a spectacular view of the bay! You will find us just behind the peach building, overlooking the bay. There's plenty of parking for all. (Annddd there's plenty of shade!) We can't wait to see you there!
ICYMI: Kirtan is the practice of yogic chanting and is one of the 6 major branches of yoga – Bhakti yoga, which is the path of devotion. It refers to your daily path and activities that bring you back to the Source in the Heart, your Higher Self.
Kirtan chanting is traditionally done using Sanskrit mantras and although you will sometimes hear English translations mixed in for fun, the majority of the call and response in chanting is done in Sanskrit because its vibrations and syllables tap into frequencies of inner peace and compassion.
The practices of yoga are non-religious and are not tied to any particular belief system. It is about a uniting experience that allows us to see our connection to our Oneness as a compliment to our path of spiritual development.
